7:00 PM - 10:00 PM CDT
The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will host two Arkansas blues bands as part of its first "Moonlight Concert Series" performance, set for Tuesday, October 25th, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. in the college's Fine Arts Auditorium. Opening the show will be Zakk and Big Papa Binns, a father/son duo from Hot Springs. The band is known for their dueling slide guitars and one-man-band style drums, producing a raw, hypnotic, delta blues sound. The college's Kristi Strain says the concert will also feature a popular band from Morrilton, AK3, or the Akeem Kemp Band as they're also known. As well as for their original tracks, AK3 is known state-wide for skillfully interpreting songs from various old-school and contemporary artists, such as Sam Cooke, Bobby Womack, Albert King and Al Green. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Kristi at 977-2081 or strain@uaccm.edu.
